Your spirit was created for fellowship

Aug 11, 2026

Scripture: Romans 12:11

“Not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord.”

Your spirit is the deepest and most eternal part of who you are. Though invisible, it is the truest expression of your identity.

When humanity fell through Adam, mankind’s spiritual connection with God was severed. But through Jesus Christ, what was dead can now live again. Salvation is more than forgiveness — it is spiritual rebirth.

The Holy Spirit now dwells within every believer, not as a distant visitor but as a covenant partner. He guides, comforts, strengthens, and sustains.

Paul urges believers to remain “fervent in spirit.” The word fervent means boiling hot — alive, awake, burning with spiritual passion. A neglected spirit gradually grows cold, and spiritual coldness eventually affects every other area of life.

Gratitude keeps the spirit alive. Every time you acknowledge your dependence on God, seek His counsel, or commune with the Holy Spirit, you are strengthening your spiritual connection.

Reflection Have you been living in continual awareness of the Holy Spirit’s presence, or only turning toward Him in moments of need?

Prayer Holy Spirit, awaken my spirit afresh. Teach me to walk in continual fellowship with You. Keep my heart fervent, sensitive, and grateful for Your presence every day. Amen.
