Don't forget God's benefits

Sep 08, 2026

Scripture: Psalm 103:2

“Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits.”

One of the greatest enemies of gratitude is forgetfulness.

The human mind naturally remembers pain more easily than faithfulness. Disappointments linger. Failures replay themselves. Fears amplify future uncertainty.

This is why David intentionally commands his soul: “Forget not.”

Gratitude often begins with remembrance.

Remember the prayers God answered. Remember the doors He opened. Remember the strength He supplied when you thought you would not endure. Remember the mercy that carried you through seasons you could not control.

A grateful mind is trained to revisit God’s goodness.

The more you remember His faithfulness, the less power fear and complaint maintain over your thinking.

Reflection What specific evidence of God’s faithfulness can you intentionally remember today?

Prayer Father, forgive me for the times I forget Your goodness. Train my mind to remember Your faithfulness daily. Let gratitude reshape how I think and respond to life. Amen.

Scripture: 3 John 1:2 (AMPC) “Beloved, I pray that in every way you may succeed and prosper and be in good health [physically], just as [I know] your soul prospers [spiritually].” Scripture reveals a profound connection between the soul and the body. Your inner world does not remain hidden. Anxiety, chronic stress, unresolved grief, and fear eventually affect physical wellbeing. Modern science ...
What you think about really matters
Scripture: Philippians 4:8 “Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure… think about such things.” Your mind was never designed to be governed by fear, bitterness, or constant anxiety. The soul expresses gratitude by choosing what it meditates upon. Gratitude is not denial of life’s difficulties — it is the intentional decision to focus on God’s truth above the nois...
Renewed  -from inside out
Scripture: Romans 12:1–2 God never intended Christianity to become mere behaviour modification. His desire is transformation from the inside out. When your spirit communes with God, your soul begins to align with Him. Your thoughts change. Your desires shift. Your body becomes the outward expression of an inward reality. This is why gratitude matters so deeply. A grateful believer is not merely...
