Your body belongs to the Lord

Sep 15, 2026

Scripture: 1 Corinthians 6:13

“Now the body is not for sexual immorality, but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body.”

This verse contains a remarkable truth: not only does your body belong to the Lord, but the Lord is for your body.

God is not indifferent toward your physical wellbeing. He cares about your health, strength, and wholeness.

Your body is the temporary dwelling place where your spirit and soul reside during your earthly life. It is also the temple of the Holy Spirit.

When you understand your body belongs to God, stewardship replaces neglect.

How you rest matters. How you manage stress matters. How you nourish your body matters.

These are not acts of legalism. They are acts of gratitude.

Caring for your body becomes a practical expression of honour toward the One who created and sustains you.

Reflection In what area of physical stewardship is God inviting you into greater wisdom and balance?

Prayer Lord, help me honour You through the way I care for my body. Teach me wise stewardship and grateful discipline in every area of my physical life. Amen.

Scripture: Psalm 103:2 “Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits.” One of the greatest enemies of gratitude is forgetfulness. The human mind naturally remembers pain more easily than faithfulness. Disappointments linger. Failures replay themselves. Fears amplify future uncertainty. This is why David intentionally commands his soul: “Forget not.” Gratitude often begins with rem...
Health of your soul (mind)
Scripture: 3 John 1:2 (AMPC) “Beloved, I pray that in every way you may succeed and prosper and be in good health [physically], just as [I know] your soul prospers [spiritually].” Scripture reveals a profound connection between the soul and the body. Your inner world does not remain hidden. Anxiety, chronic stress, unresolved grief, and fear eventually affect physical wellbeing. Modern science ...
What you think about really matters
Scripture: Philippians 4:8 “Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure… think about such things.” Your mind was never designed to be governed by fear, bitterness, or constant anxiety. The soul expresses gratitude by choosing what it meditates upon. Gratitude is not denial of life’s difficulties — it is the intentional decision to focus on God’s truth above the nois...
