Worship Devotional - "Jesus Sings Before His Greatest Hour"

Sep 15, 2025

Key Scripture: "And when they had sung a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives." - Matthew 26:30

Reflection The last thing Jesus did with His disciples collectively before Calvary was sing. This wasn't casual background music or religious obligation - this was strategic spiritual preparation. Jesus and His disciples would have sung Psalms 113-118, the traditional songs sung after the Passover meal, and these weren't just melodies - they were God's Word set to music.

This moment reveals something profound about the power of worship in our darkest hours. Jesus was about to face His greatest test, the weight of humanity's sin, separation from the Father, and physical crucifixion. Yet He chose to strengthen and encourage Himself through singing God's Word with His people.
