Worship Devotional - Faith Pleases God

Mar 04, 2026

Key Scripture: "But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him." - Hebrews 11:6

Reflection

Without faith it is impossible to please God. This being so, it can also be said that faith pleases Him. Nothing we do can ever please God unless it is done by faith. If there is a way to achieve something without God, then faith can often be absent. Conversely, faith is always present when there is dependence on Him.

This transforms our understanding of praise. When we praise God by faith—especially when circumstances don't warrant celebration—we are doing something that genuinely pleases Him. Our praise becomes an act of trust, a declaration that we believe He is who He says He is.

Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God. Hearing God's Word over and over—by reading, confessing, and hearing it preached—results in something pleasing to God: faith. The starting place in a life that brings pleasure to God is the reading of His Word.

It's a wonderful and reassuring thought that every time we read God's Word, He is pleased. And as faith builds through ingesting God's Word, something else is released—praise. For this reason, praise is the highest expression of faith. It is the fruit from the tree of faith that is rooted in the soil of knowledge.

Today's Challenge

Today, let your praise be an intentional act of faith that pleases God. Even if you don't feel like praising, choose to praise because you believe His Word. Trust that this faith-filled praise brings pleasure to your Father's heart.

Prayer

Lord, I want my life to please You, and I know that requires faith. Help me build my faith through Your Word so that my praise becomes the highest expression of trust in You. I believe that You are, and that You reward those who diligently seek You. Amen.

Breakthrough Praise -Todah
Key Scripture “Whoever offers praise glorifies Me.” — Psalm 50:23 Reflection The Hebrew word “Todah” describes thanksgiving offered before the answer appears. It is praise rooted in faith rather than visible evidence. Anyone can thank God after breakthrough arrives. But mature worshipers learn to thank Him while still waiting. Todah praise declares confidence in God’s faithfulness even when ...
