Worship Devotional - "Drawing Near for True Intimacy"

Aug 15, 2025

Key Scripture: "Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded." - James 4:8

Reflection If something is truly valuable to you, you'll do whatever it takes to get it. If we genuinely esteem God as valuable, we'll do whatever it takes to get close to Him through worship, prayer, and studying His Word. This isn't religious duty - it's passionate pursuit.

True ministry and lasting breakthrough flow from working hard at fellowship with God. You cannot give what you don't possess, and you cannot lead others closer to God than you are yourself. It's absurd to expect that God will use those who don't really know Him intimately.

Don't forget God's benefits
Scripture: Psalm 103:2 “Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits.” One of the greatest enemies of gratitude is forgetfulness. The human mind naturally remembers pain more easily than faithfulness. Disappointments linger. Failures replay themselves. Fears amplify future uncertainty. This is why David intentionally commands his soul: “Forget not.” Gratitude often begins with rem...
