Health of Your Soul

Jul 18, 2026

Scripture
3 John 1:2 (AMPC) “Beloved, I pray that in every way you may succeed and prosper and be in good health [physically], just as [I know] your soul prospers [spiritually].”

Thought
Scripture reveals a profound connection between the soul and the body. Your inner world does not remain hidden. Anxiety, chronic stress, unresolved grief, and fear eventually affect physical wellbeing.

Modern science increasingly confirms what Scripture declared long ago: the condition of the soul influences the health of the body. This is why spiritual and emotional health matter deeply. A soul grounded in God’s truth becomes steadier under pressure. Gratitude strengthens emotional resilience because it continually redirects the heart toward God’s faithfulness.

This does not mean believers never experience difficulty. But it does mean we are not designed to live dominated by turmoil. As your soul prospers spiritually, it influences every other dimension of life.

Reflection
What burden have you been carrying internally that needs to be surrendered to God?

Prayer
Lord, prosper my soul through Your presence and truth. Heal anxious thoughts, restore emotional strength, and teach me to rest in Your faithfulness. Amen.

How your body expresses gratitude
Scripture: Romans 12:1 “Present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.” Worship is not confined to church gatherings or moments of prayer. According to Paul, worship also involves the surrender of daily living. Your body expresses gratitude through action. When you serve others, worship wholeheartedly, show up faithfully in fellowship, fast, r...
Your body belongs to the Lord
Scripture: 1 Corinthians 6:13 “Now the body is not for sexual immorality, but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body.” This verse contains a remarkable truth: not only does your body belong to the Lord, but the Lord is for your body. God is not indifferent toward your physical wellbeing. He cares about your health, strength, and wholeness. Your body is the temporary dwelling place where your s...
Don't forget God's benefits
Scripture: Psalm 103:2 “Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits.” One of the greatest enemies of gratitude is forgetfulness. The human mind naturally remembers pain more easily than faithfulness. Disappointments linger. Failures replay themselves. Fears amplify future uncertainty. This is why David intentionally commands his soul: “Forget not.” Gratitude often begins with rem...
