Worship Devotional - "Worship: The Covenant Response"

Aug 25, 2025

Key Scripture: "You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength. And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart." - Deuteronomy 6:5-6

Reflection Worship isn't something you do for God - it's your response to God for the revelation of Himself in His covenant. Throughout history, every person who entered into covenant with God became a worshiper. Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, David - they all worshiped because they understood who they were in relationship to Him.

God told the children of Israel they had to love Him with all their heart (worship) and keep His commandments. Obedience to the covenant and worship as a response to it was the "glue" that maintained their relationship with God. But you have a better covenant based on better promises, which means your worship should be even more extraordinary.

Key Scripture: "He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.' But this He spoke concerning the Spirit, whom those believing in Him would receive." - John 7:38-39   Reflection When we compare our New Testament worship with that of the Old Testament, the obvious difference is the presence of Jesus and the Holy Spirit who were not available t...
