Worship Devotional - "Worship Is Intimacy"

Dec 12, 2025

Key Scripture: "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." - Hebrews 11:1

Reflection

Just as faith is in the present tense, so is worship. The time for worship is now. The Father is seeking your worship right now in the present continuous tense—not just on Sundays or when you meet with other believers.

Corporate worship should be an overflow of the personal, intimate worship we give God on a continuous basis throughout the week. It's difficult to be intimate with God in public if you are not intimate with Him privately. As we develop a lifestyle of worship through a continual consciousness of God, our worship on Sunday will be an overflow of it. The worship team's function is not to stir us up to worship but to facilitate the overflow.

Worship is so uncomplicated; it's letting God know how much you love Him in your own personal way. He is your Dad, the one person who loves you at all times and wants you to visit Him any time, day or night—He's always ready. Although it might help, music isn't necessary for worship. All you need is an intimate relationship.

Worship is a continual state of being conscious of an awesome, powerful, loving God who is ever ready to heal, deliver, and set us free from every work of the devil.

Today's Challenge

Before Sunday's corporate worship, establish a personal worship rhythm this week. Set aside time each day—even five minutes—to worship God privately. Let your public worship flow from private intimacy.

Prayer

Father, I want to worship You not just on Sundays but continuously throughout my week. Teach me to maintain a constant consciousness of Your presence. Help me develop such intimacy with You in private that my public worship becomes an unstoppable overflow. Amen.

Worship Devotional - A Lifestyle of Praise
Key Scripture: "Seven times a day I praise You, because of Your righteous judgments." - Psalm 119:164   Reflection The psalmist praised God seven times a day—and notice the reason: "because of Your righteous judgments." He was reading and meditating on God's Word throughout the day, and each encounter produced praise. He had developed a lifestyle of praise. Seven times a day suggests that prais...
Worship Devotional - God's Word Is My Song
Key Scripture: "Your statutes have been my songs in the house of my pilgrimage." - Psalm 119:54   Reflection The psalmist declares that God's statutes—His Word—have been his songs throughout his journey through life. This reveals something profound: the source of all Christian singing must be God's Word. If the lyrics don't support biblical truth, the songs do not support true praise. We live i...
Worship Devotional - "Rejoicing in His Testimonies"
Key Scripture: "I have rejoiced in the way of Your testimonies, as much as in all riches." - Psalm 119:14   Reflection The psalmist makes an extraordinary comparison: he rejoiced in God's testimonies as much as in all riches. Think about that. The Word of God brought him the same level of joy that winning the lottery would bring most people—perhaps even more. Rejoicing and praise are deeply con...
