Worship Devotional - "The Lord's Supper: Remembrance with Power"

Nov 06, 2025

Key Scripture: "This is My body which is given for you; do this in remembrance of Me." - Luke 22:19

Reflection The most powerful of all remembrance celebrations is the Lord's Supper, instituted by Jesus Himself. When Jesus broke bread with His disciples, He said, "Do this in remembrance of Me." He was establishing a memorial that would remind believers of His sacrifice on the cross and His soon-coming return.

The early church understood the power of this remembrance - they partook of the Lord's Supper daily, moving from house to house, breaking bread with gladness and simplicity of heart. This wasn't religious ritual; it was powerful spiritual practice. Smith Wigglesworth, one of God's greatest servants in modern times, took communion daily and lived healthily until he was eighty-seven.
