Worship Devotional - "The Father Who Seeks"

Mar 18, 2026

Key Scripture: "But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him." - John 4:23

Reflection

It is almost inconceivable to think that the infinite, Almighty God who is in need of nothing is actually seeking those who will worship Him. The picture of an earthly father seeking for his lost child is one of relentless endeavor until the child is found. Only then is the father's desire fulfilled.

Our Heavenly Father does not seek for us in the sense that we are lost, but He does seek for us to worship Him in spirit and truth. The reason the Father seeks for us to worship is for our benefit—we are the ones who are changed, not God. Worship seems to be the key God has given us to unlock the door to heavenly blessings.

The Father's motivation in seeking worshipers is never self-gratification but self-giving. If we could only grasp this, our worship would take on a new dimension. It is very difficult to comprehend that the One who holds the entire universe together by the Word of His power is at the same time searching among His children for those who worship in spirit and truth.

The most amazing thing about this is that God has made it possible for us to worship Him anywhere, at any time. There are no restrictions, no limitations—just an open invitation from a seeking Father.

Today's Challenge

Take a moment to let this truth sink in: God is actively seeking you as a worshiper right now. Respond to His seeking heart by pausing whatever you're doing and offering Him a moment of genuine worship.

Prayer

Father, I am overwhelmed that You—the infinite, Almighty God—are seeking me as a worshiper. I don't want You to search in vain. Here I am, responding to Your seeking heart. Receive my worship today as the answer to Your search. Amen.

Extravagant Praise -Halal
Reflection One of the primary Hebrew words for praise in Scripture is “Halal.” It is where the word “Hallelujah” originates. Halal means to boast, celebrate, shine, rave, or even appear foolish in joyful praise before God. This kind of praise is passionate and expressive. David demonstrated halal worship when he danced before the Lord with all his might as the Ark of God returned to Jerusalem...
Worship Restores Identity
Key Scripture “But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people.” — 1 Peter 2:9 Reflection Identity confusion is one of the enemy’s greatest weapons against believers. When people do not know who they are in God, they become vulnerable to insecurity, compromise, comparison, fear, and spiritual passivity. But worship restores identity. In Scripture, p...
Worship is the Atmosphere of Revival
Key Scripture “Yet once more I shake not only the earth, but also heaven.” — Hebrews 12:26 “And the house was filled with a cloud, so that the priests could not continue ministering because of the cloud; for the glory of the Lord filled the house of God.” — 2 Chronicles 5:13–14 Reflection Throughout Scripture, revival is always connected to restored worship. Before there was national transfo...
