Worship Devotional - "Thanksgiving: The Launch Pad of Prayer"

Oct 14, 2025

Key Scripture: "We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers." - 1 Thessalonians 1:2

Reflection Paul's prayers were filled with thanksgiving for those he prayed for. Thanksgiving is the starting point when praying for someone. If you cannot be thankful to God for a person, there's no sense in praying for them. Paul understood this principle and practiced it consistently.

"I couldn't stop thanking God for you - every time I prayed, I'd think of you and give thanks." This wasn't just polite religious language; it was the launching mechanism that sent his prayers heavenward.

However, He is not an object but a Person who receives personal, present-tense worship. J...

Key Scripture: "You worship what you do not know; we know what we worship, for salvation is of the Jews." - John 4:22 Ā  Reflection Jesus made an amazing statement to the Samaritan woman. He told her that although she was a worshiper of God, she did not know the God she worshiped. This proves that it is possible to worship in ignorance. In fact, many people actually do, and their worship benefit...
