Worship Devotional - "Rejoicing in His Testimonies"

Feb 20, 2026

Key Scripture: "I have rejoiced in the way of Your testimonies, as much as in all riches." - Psalm 119:14

Reflection

The psalmist makes an extraordinary comparison: he rejoiced in God's testimonies as much as in all riches. Think about that. The Word of God brought him the same level of joy that winning the lottery would bring most people—perhaps even more.

Rejoicing and praise are deeply connected. Joy is a fruit of the Spirit that exudes from knowing God through His Word. When we discover who God is through His testimonies—His faithful acts recorded in Scripture—something rises up within us that demands expression.

This is why praise that flows from God's Word is so powerful. It's not manufactured emotion or religious performance. It's genuine rejoicing that comes from encountering the living God in His living Word. You've found treasure, and you can't help but celebrate.

Many believers are trying to rejoice without testimonies. They want the emotion of praise without the foundation of Scripture. But the psalmist shows us the order: first comes the Word, then comes the rejoicing. When you value God's testimonies as much as all riches, praise becomes as natural as breathing.

Today's Challenge

Read through a psalm today and identify God's testimonies—His faithful acts and declarations. Let each one become a reason for rejoicing. Value these testimonies as the riches they truly are.

Prayer

Lord, I want to value Your testimonies as much as all riches. Open my eyes to see the treasure in Your Word. As I discover Your faithfulness recorded in Scripture, let genuine rejoicing rise up within me. Your Word is my inheritance and my joy. Amen.

He was reading and meditating on God's Word throughout the day, and each encounter produced praise. He had developed a lifestyle of praise. Seven times a day suggests that prais...
Worship Devotional - God's Word Is My Song
Key Scripture: "Your statutes have been my songs in the house of my pilgrimage." - Psalm 119:54   Reflection The psalmist declares that God's statutes—His Word—have been his songs throughout his journey through life. This reveals something profound: the source of all Christian singing must be God's Word. If the lyrics don't support biblical truth, the songs do not support true praise. We live i...
Worship Devotional - "Learning Leads to Praise"
Key Scripture: "I will praise You with uprightness of heart, when I learn Your righteous judgments." - Psalm 119:7   Reflection The psalmist makes a direct connection: "I will praise You... when I learn Your righteous judgments." Praise comes when you learn and know God's Word. If you don't know God's Word, praise does not come naturally. This explains why some believers can sing the words of w...
