Worship Devotional - A Lifestyle of Praise

Feb 25, 2026

Key Scripture: "Seven times a day I praise You, because of Your righteous judgments." - Psalm 119:164

Reflection

The psalmist praised God seven times a day—and notice the reason: "because of Your righteous judgments." He was reading and meditating on God's Word throughout the day, and each encounter produced praise. He had developed a lifestyle of praise.

Seven times a day suggests that praise wasn't confined to a morning devotion or an evening prayer. It was woven throughout his entire day. He had learned to punctuate his life with praise, returning again and again to God's Word and letting it spark fresh expressions of adoration.

This lifestyle approach to praise is transformative. Corporate praise on Sunday is powerful, but the greatest change happens when praise becomes a personal lifestyle—when we are transformed one degree at a time through continuous encounters with God and His Word.

The question isn't whether you have time to praise seven times a day. The question is whether God's Word is so alive in you that praise naturally erupts multiple times throughout your daily routine. When the catalyst is present, the reaction is inevitable.

Today's Challenge

Set seven reminders throughout your day—morning, mid-morning, noon, afternoon, evening, night, and before bed. At each reminder, read a short Scripture and let it produce a moment of praise. Begin developing a lifestyle of praise.

Prayer

Lord, I don't want praise to be an occasional event but a continuous lifestyle. Help me develop the habit of returning to Your Word throughout my day. Let each encounter produce fresh praise until my whole life becomes a song of adoration to You. Amen.

Worship Devotionals - "True Worshipers"
Key Scripture: "But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth." - John 4:23   Reflection The word "true" in the Greek is "alethinos" and means true in the sense of being real, genuine, ideal—that which has not only the name and resemblance but the real nature corresponding to the name. As much as God is true and genuine in all His ways,...
Worship Devotional - "Worship Is Always Now"
Key Scripture: "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." - Hebrews 11:1 Ā  Reflection Worship should be personal and in the present tense. It's the great "I Am" that receives worship now. If God were an object, our worship would simply be based on knowledge about it. However, He is not an object but a Person who receives personal, present-tense worship. J...
Worship Devotional - "You Cannot Worship in Ignorance"
Key Scripture: "You worship what you do not know; we know what we worship, for salvation is of the Jews." - John 4:22 Ā  Reflection Jesus made an amazing statement to the Samaritan woman. He told her that although she was a worshiper of God, she did not know the God she worshiped. This proves that it is possible to worship in ignorance. In fact, many people actually do, and their worship benefit...
