Worship Devotional - "Sacrifice of Thanksgiving"

Jul 30, 2025

Key Scripture: "Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to His name." - Hebrews 13:15

Reflection

The sacrifice of thanksgiving means giving God thanks when we don't feel like it, when our circumstances or feelings aren't motivating us to do so. This is the "death" part of being a living sacrifice - dying to our emotions and choosing gratitude based on who God is, not how we feel.

Before Jesus came, sacrifice was associated with death. After His death and resurrection, sacrifice is now associated with life. God wants living sacrifices, and the sacrifice of thanksgiving brings life into our dead circumstances. If God can raise the dead, He can certainly raise our "dead" situations.
