David's Revolutionary Worship

Reflection

King David revolutionized worship in ways that still impact us today. As a man after God's own heart, he introduced spontaneous, exuberant expressions of worship that were unprecedented: musical instruments, singing, clapping, dancing, and even prophesying with music.

David had the audacity to write personal songs to God, expecting Him to listen and respond with deliverance and healing - and God did! He danced before the Lord with all his might without embarrassment, and it pleased God. He commanded instruments to be played in worship and encouraged worshipers to sing new songs.
