The indwelling Spirit of God not only helps us worship God, but He also bears the fruit of the Spirit in our lives (Galatians 5:22-26). This effectively replaces much of our carnal nature with God’s divine nature which is love, joy, peace, long suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control.
If we walk in the spirit we will not fulfil the lusts of the flesh (Galatians 5:16). Since the greatest hindrance to worship is inherent in our carnal natures, the work of the indwelling Spirit is freeing us from the works of the flesh and breaking the bondages that prohibit and restrict us. Our worship should be characterised by the fruit of the Holy Spirit, and will be, if we allow the Holy Spirit to minister to us, replacing our carnal nature with His fruit.
As the fruit of the Spirit becomes evident in our lives and the gifts of the Spirit (1 Corinthians 12) operate through us, Jesus will become more tangible and real to a world that does not know Him. A worshiping life will keep bearing fruit and will be a testimony to God.
